High on our list of metal must haves is brass, which is officially our finish of choice this winter. Golden tones are trending in worlds of fashion, architecture and street art. Take the Rem Koolhas / OMA designed Fondazione Prada in Milan, street artist Lakwena Maciver’s ‘The Future’s Golden exhibition in Shoreditch or even Dolce & Gabbana’s most recent Alta Moda show in Palermo, Sicily.

Brass has seen a resurgence in recent months, transforming it from a finish that was often thought of as dated, to one of this season’s most coveted metals. As a raw metal, brass has a closer association with earthy tones and ages gracefully. It softens geometric shapes, sharp angles and modernist straight lines. As the eye is drawn to light reflective surfaces, brass helps to open up a space, making rooms feel larger.

We love using our brass HARDWARE with soft greys, light almonds, forest greens and dark navys. Brass takes on a new dimension when paired with oak, as seen in Studio Zung’s breath-taking Atelier 216 project in The Hamptons. The knurling on our brass HARDWARE makes it feel fresh, bringing a modern, tactile, quality to a timeless metal.
