Where do you look for interiors style inspiration?
I’m not very into a certain era but I like to mix old stuff with new. I find a lot of inspiration in the contemporary homes of others and I’m addicted to Pinterest.
Is there a colour or texture you are particularly drawn to at the moment?
I’m very into dark colours right now. We just redecorated our living room so I looked at dark green or dark blue colours and I ended up choosing a very deep blue colour. I love mixing textures such as velvet with linen, metal with stone etc.
What do you think makes Swedish country houses special?
The nature and the fact that when we build houses we try to make them more a part of nature, making them fit in with the surroundings instead of disturbing them. I also love the simplicity of Swedish design and interior and how we decorate our homes in uncluttered way.
What was the first room you planned when renovating your country house and why?
It was both the kitchen and living room because that is where we socialize. Our goal was to build a country house with its’ main purpose as place to hang out with our family and friends. We want everyone to feel extra welcome and in the future our plan is being able to have up to 20-25 guests staying over, sleeping comfortably in beds around the house and in guest houses.
Have you used anything from Buster + Punch in your country home and why did you choose to use it?
Yes, all out kitchen doors have handles from Buster + Punch. I think it’s really hard to find beautiful, distinguished handles today and I love the industrial take on the ones from Buster + Punch.
How do you prepare your home to welcome guests in winter?
I light candles everywhere, make a fire in the fireplace and I love to decorate with things from the garden. Autumn leaves, branches and other beautiful things I find.
Do you have any style tips to make interiors spaces look great in photos?
I love trends and I’m definitely trend-sensitive but I prefer to go with more classics when it comes to bigger furniture. This allows me to replace details and to make changes in my home, styling it different for photos.
