CASUAL ELEGANCE AND UNDERSTATED LUXURY
Get a look inside Golden House, a one-off luxury property and one of the most spectacular residential projects of Prague.
With an impressive resume including a MSc. degree in applied mathemaics and a career in investment banking in New York, Ivanka Kowalski is the renowned interior architect behind this spectacular atmosphere.
The brief was to create a luxurious, contemporary, light and airy but at the same time cosy family residence.
Materials, colours and textures are always a priority for Ivanka Kowalski, who prefers neutral tones and natural materials. In this instance American walnut, brass and travertine combined with white concrete floors and white walls were selected.
A calm atmosphere, understated luxury and casual elegance defines the project and is evident throughout the house.
Kitchen cabinets in walnut, complimented with brass fittings.
The substantial four bedroom house spreads over 4 floors, but still manages to feel like one consistent space. The chosen palette of materials runs through the house like its DNA.
All floors are in white concrete with underfloor heating (with exception of children’s bedrooms on the top floor that have white carpet). Wood has been excluded from the floor but has been used in abundance on the walls and also on the ceiling of the master bedroom suite for extra warmth and cosiness. Bathrooms like the rest of the house are all in travertine, white concrete and walnut.
