Grade II listed Manor House by Cherie Lee Interiors

The eponymous Cherie Lee interiors transforms a Grade II listed, converted Manor House in Hertfordshire into a home for a young couple, expecting their first child. In the past the site had been used as a hospital and a boarding school for girls, before finally becoming residential. The building had not been redecorated since the 80’s when it was acquired by the client, so it required full modernisation and updating for contemporary living. This started with combining several smaller rooms at the rear of the house to create a large, open plan living space which features our HOOKED WALL and CEILING lights. 

We spoke to Cherie about the project:

“The overall concept for the property was masculine and bold; to create a back drop for a mix of contemporary and traditional artwork. We used touches of luxury materials such as the crystal chandelier and velvet sofa, to contrast with the tougher features.  The colour palette was kept simple and drama added with dark timbers and smoked bronze metals.  Only pops of colour made these pieces feel bolder in the largely monochrome scheme.”
