REFINED INDUSTRIAL STYLE

Stephen Kenn Loft

Situated in the heart of downtown Los Angeles is furniture designer Stephen Kenn’s experiential showroom, Stephen Kenn Loft. Part micro hotel, part showroom, part neighborhood venue, Kenn transformed a former 1920s murphy bed factory into a fresh, one-of-a-kind space where visitors can live and interact with his furniture designs in a more intimate setting.

The two-story loft space takes industrial design cues from its large factory windows, high ceilings and open-concept layout. The original framework materials like concrete, steel and natural wood beams work in concert with the contemporary details Kenn selected, including Buster + Punch’s HARDWARE and DOOR Collections in steel, brass and matte black.

Stephen Kenn Studio’s signature handmade furniture collections are showcased throughout the space, presenting Kenn’s design heritage of modern with an elegant edge. With every design decision deliberate, Kenn chose Buster + Punch’s solid metal ELECTRICITY dimmers to juxtapose the rich texture of walls, painted with Portola Paint’s Roman Clay.

After completion of the space, Buster + Punch founder Massimo Buster Minale flew out to Los Angeles to take a tour of the loft and the city through Stephen Kenn’s perspective. Connected by their shared passions, watch these two creators talk motorbikes, interiors and details.
