A Rustic, Modern Composition

The Madrid home of Natalia Swarz and artist Armando Mesías perfectly encapsulates the creative backgrounds of its owners. From the vigilantly selected artworks on the chalky, muted walls to the drama of its green-tiled bathroom, the home projects a feeling of stillness and calm – as if you’ve been gifted an hour alone in a gallery, to wander at will.

As with other spaces we’ve covered that have ties to the art world, the light in Casa Cesi sets the tone. The dusky, muted tones used throughout are caressed by the soft Spanish light, flowing over the tasteful décor in natural woods, corduroy and rattan.

We love the way the hazy Spanish light gently fills the space, with Buster + Punch Exhaust spots and ceiling lights acting as the perfect substitute for when the sun ebbs away. The beauty of Exhaust being its ability to soften its light pattern thanks to the decorative, functional baffle and honeycomb internals.
